A Place to Play at the Children’s Museum of Acadiana

View All Kids Activities

The Children's Museum of Acadiana in downtown Lafayette promotes learning through interactive stations for children ages two through 12. Museum guests can enjoy a bubble factory, kid's television station and displays like a mock grocery store, dentist’s office and restaurant.

Children can care for animals at the pretend veterinary clinic or explore building styles in “Architecture Alley.” The museum also contains a full-sized ambulance, known to children as “Ami the Ambulance.” This particular exhibit, sponsored by Acadian Ambulance, allows children to put themselves in the shoes of hard-working paramedics. At the ReUSEum, young visitors learn about repurposing by creating something new out of recycled materials.

Themed summer camps and workshops throughout the year spotlight art and science through activities like engineering, jewelry making, mural painting and mixed media art. The museum also offers children’s classes in ham radio operation.
