Art and Culture Kept Alive Through the Acadiana Center for the Arts

View All Arts & Music

The Acadiana Center for the Arts (ACA), located in the heart of Downtown Lafayette, promotes arts education and funding in the Acadiana region through their Arts and Culture Funding Program. For nearly 40 years, the ACA has engaged the community through a variety of outreach, education and community development programs.

The ACA hosts a variety of films, live stage performances and art exhibitions throughout the year including:

  • Alice and Wonderland performed by the Tout-A-Trac Theatre
  • Jazz musicians such as Kenny Barron
  • Operas including Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin
  • Performances by dance troupes
  • Visual art galleries

The center also offers educational opportunities — which focus on professional development in teaching art — and arts grants to local teachers. The grants go toward funding arts education for area youth, giving them the ability to win up to $1,500 for their school’s arts programs.
