Bike Through Acadiana on Stunning Trails and Routes

View All Sports

The Acadiana Region features 19 designated biking trails and routes that vary in length and type.

Longer off-road trails, such as the 55-mile Atchafalaya Basin Wilderness Trail, are both enjoyable and challenging. A remote gravel path runs atop the Atchafalaya River Basin levee connecting the towns of Henderson and Franklin. With no points of service along the way, bikers are surrounded by the lush basin landscape.

The 26-mile New Iberia-St. Martinville road trail connects two quaint towns. Bikers pass by historic sites such as the Shadows-on-the-Teche historic home in New Iberia and the Evangeline live oak in St. Martinville associated with Longfellow’s 1847 epic poem. Along the 25-mile New Iberia-Avery Island Loop, bikers can explore a rice factory in New Iberia, the Tabasco Factory and Country Store in Avery Island, and the wildlife-rich Jungle Gardens.
