View All Events

Once a year, the Festival International de Louisiane invites guests to experience a variety of international foods, arts, crafts and music celebrating the unique heritage of the Acadiana region as well as related global cultures. The five-day festival aims to enhance Louisiana's role as a hub and destination for the arts. Founded in 1986, this free event brings visitors by the thousands for some family fun. In 2015, the festival was named a Top 10 Cultural Festival by readers of USA Today.

Each April, Festival International transforms downtown Lafayette into a thriving outdoor market with hundreds of vendors and cultural attractions on display. The festival offers visitors the opportunity to tour the Marche des Arts, the festival’s fine arts market, which displays the artistic works of nearly 100 artists from across the U.S. Additionally, the Marche du Monde, or World Market, features creative works from all over the globe, providing visitors with a variety of items to purchase.

The festival's musical guests spotlight styles from Afrobeat and Swamp Pop to electric rock, traditional instrumentals and dance. Past performances at the festival have featured Grammy award-winning musicians such as Aaron Neville, Dr. John and Irma Thomas.
