View All Events

The Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival, held every year in May, is one of the region’s most well-known events that celebrates South Louisiana’s unique cuisine. Crawfish are essentially small lobsters that can be cooked in a variety of ways, and the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival celebrates this staple of Louisiana culture. Nationally recognized by several mass media outlets and named a Top 10 Food Festival by USA Today, the Crawfish Festival attracts thousands of visitors each year.

Festivalgoers enjoy culinary delights such as fried crawfish, crawfish bisque, boiled crawfish and more. In addition to the seemingly endless supply of crawfish, guests can experience the rich Acadiana culture through Cajun dancing lessons, arts and craft tents and a variety of live music.

The three-day event attracts a variety of talented musicians from genres including Blue Grass, Swamp Pop and Zydeco. Festival attendees can also enjoy a parade featuring vibrantly colored floats and marching bands, carnival rides and Cajun dance contests.
