BACK TO Private Schools

Episcopal School of Acadiana (ESA) is a private pre-kindergarten-through-12th-grade independent school with campuses in Cade and Lafayette that encourages hands-on learning for all students with a variety of engaging academic experiences.

In addition to challenging programs that foster critical thinking in the humanities, math, science, technology and languages, the school provides students with a broad range of electives. The Performing and Visual Arts program features workshop-style instruction in metalwork, sculpture, ceramics, photography, drama, music and more. The Honor Code creates a community of trust, and allows students an age-appropriate combination of freedom and responsibility that serves them in college and beyond.

Students at Episcopal School of Acadiana have a variety of opportunities to travel both nationally and internationally through the school’s unique travel programs. Each spring, 5th graders spend a week at the Teton Science School in the mountains of Wyoming to research and track local wildlife. In 8th grade, students visit North Carolina’s Pisgah National Forest for a five-day hike, learning about science as well as the importance of teamwork. ESA seniors have the opportunity to visit Europe to observe the history and culture of countries such as England and France.

ESA’s sports program produces top athletes in the state and region, while maintaining a policy where all students are welcome to participate in any sport. The school holds 71 state championship titles, with programs in swimming, baseball, basketball, volleyball, cross country, track and field, soccer, golf and tennis.
