Schools of the Sacred Heart Grand Coteau comprise a Catholic school for girls and a separate Catholic academy for boys. The Academy of the Sacred Heart is an all-girls school that includes a day program for girls from pre-kindergarten through 12th grades and a boarding school for girls in grades 7-12. Berchmanns Academy enrolls boys from pre-kindergarten through ninth grades in its day-only program.

Both academies combine comprehensive academics with religious education and a community service requirement that begins in the ninth grade. Students learn Spanish, conduct hands-on science experiments and explore music and art at all grade levels. College preparation is a central focus in ninth through 12th grades, when students benefit from an average class size of 15 and Advanced Placement and honors courses. Alumni gain admission to universities such as Harvard College, Bennington College and Emory University.

The school’s 225-acre campus offers unique opportunities to students. Schools of the Sacred Heart Grand Coteau students can choose to develop horseback riding skills through a school equestrian program that encompasses English and Western styles, as well as competitive events. Students participate in cheer, basketball, cross-country, soccer, swimming, tennis and more; there are also numerous clubs offered, including drama, fitness and music.
