Lafayette’s St. Thomas More Catholic High School has been recognized three times by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Graduates of the 9th-through-12th-grade campus of 1,100 students gain admission to colleges that include Harvard University, Columbia University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

St. Thomas More offers Advanced Placement, honors and traditional college-prep courses in English, history, math, science, theology and the arts. Its 1:1 laptop initiative ensures that each student has a laptop for classwork and research.

Outside the classroom, students participate in French club, game show-style quiz bowl competitions, drama, art club, National Honor Society and more. In 2013-14, members of the science club traveled, twice, to the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, to assist in field research.

St. Thomas More Catholic High School is also known for a consistently strong athletic program that has won 53 state titles, including boys basketball in 2013 and girls volleyball in 2012. Its varsity cheerleading squad was National Grand Champion at the 2014 Contest of Champions in Orlando, Florida.
