McNeese Offers Four-Year College Experience in Collaborative Environment

McNeese State University is a four-year, regional college in Lake Charles where students benefit from small class sizes and a diverse selection of courses. It is one of nine institutions in the University of Louisiana System. McNeese students select from more than 70 graduate and undergraduate degree programs, including:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Nursing
  • Physics
  • Visual Arts

Additionally, McNeese’s well-known curricula in agricultural science and food nutrition science are supported by more than 2,000 acres of land used for research, farming and ranching. The university’s Honors College provides scholarships and a high-level academic experience to qualifying incoming freshmen. Honors College students attend smaller, intensive classes and take advantage of one-on-one research opportunities, field trips and special projects.

McNeese students enjoy all of the aspects of campus life, including fully furnished residence halls, more than 100 registered student organizations, fraternities and sororities. A variety of athletic events take place throughout the year as well, giving students the opportunity to cheer on the university’s many sports teams. The school’s competitive programs include basketball, baseball, cross-country, golf, women’s soccer, volleyball and track and field.
